The Proper Way to Use a Mouse Trap

The second you notice a single mouse in your house, you need to act fast. Mice can reproduce quickly, going from one small problem to 10 big problems in a matter of 20 days! Load up on traps now so you can avoid having a full blown infestation of mice.

Buying Mouse Traps
There are a few different types of mouse traps you can purchase to remove your infestation. Whichever type you choose, purchase at least ten to speed up the catching process.

  • The electronic mouse trap will shock mice as it captures them, preventing these pests from running away with your bait.
  • The live mouse trap is a cage that will capture mice alive and allow you to release them humanely.
  • The snap mouse trap is the classic design that we all know and love. It is the top rated and most used mouse trap in the country.

Placement
You want to place as many traps as you can where the mice are living in your home. If you don’t know the exact location, place a few near where you have seen them in the past. Other good spots are behind and underneath furniture, near the kitchen, and along the baseboards of each room. If your traps don’t catch any mice after a few days, place the traps in new locations.

Checking In
Keep an eye on your mouse traps at least twice per day. Mice that are killed by traps should be removed from the house immediately for health reasons. Any traps that catch mice should be reset in that same location. If you are using cage traps, check on them more frequently so any caught mice can be released quickly and humanely.
