Knockout Pest Control Presents Donation to Clark Botanical Garden for Hurricane Sandy Repairs

Uniondale, NY: June 14, 2014: Knockout Pest Control presented a check to the Fanny Dwight Clark Memorial Garden to help replace the some 40 trees destroyed during Hurricane Sandy.
In March, Knockout had challenged customers and business associates to support Project 40, the Garden’s fund raising initiative. Knockout pledged to match donations up to $2,500—meaning the Garden earned $5,000 from Knockout’s support initiative.

Described as “dramatic and devastating,” Sandy’s impact was so severe that the Garden was closed for six months after the storm.

“Mr. Katz’s generous offer to match donations up to $2500 received during the month of March certainly inspired many others to contribute to our ‘Project 40.’ We are pleased that we were able to meet his challenge,” said Jerilyn Dreitlein President of Clark Gardens. “His concern for the restoration of our badly damaged Clark Botanic Garden is entirely consistent with the environmental awareness that is evident in his practices at Knock Out Pest Control. We thank Mr. Katz for the many trees that these matching funds will enable us to plant.”
