Arthur Katz named Honorary Co-Chairman at Nassau County, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Observance

Arthur Katz, president of Knockout Pest Control, will serve as Honorary Co-Chairman of the 29th Annual Nassau County Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Birthday Observance. Among the events planned for the holiday weekend is the Annual Scholarship presentation at the Awards Luncheon on Monday, January 20th, at 11:30 a.m. at the Marriott Hotel, located at 101 James Doolittle Blvd., in Uniondale, NY. Proceeds from the luncheon will assist local high school seniors seeking higher education. Nassau County Executive, Edward Mangano will be the Honorary Chairperson.

“It is truly an honor to be selected to Co-Chair this celebration in the memory of Dr. King.” said Mr. Katz. “I’m especially proud to be involved with the Scholarship awards Luncheon that will help those graduating High School to continue their education.”

Mr. Katz has been honored numerous times for his civic work including: 2013 co-honoree at the Celebration of Suburban Diversity dinner. In 2012 Mr. Katz was appointed the Long Island Chairman of the Jewish Community Relations Council. He received the “business award” from The 100 Hundred Black Men of Long Island on 2011. In 2001 Mr. Katz was appointed Vice-Chairman Long Island Division for the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs and from 1990 – 1993 he was past chairperson of the Long Island Cabinet of UJA-Federation of NY and a former member of the NY Board of Directors.
