How to Prevent Fruit Tree Pest Problems
Even though spring is on its way, anything can happen between now and when plants actually begin growing again.

Applying Dormant Spray to Your Fruit Trees
When taking care of your fruit trees, there are many different sprays and medicines you can apply. For those who are trying to keep away pests that can damage the tree, invest in Superior Oil.
Superior Oil
Pests such as mites, aphids, leaf miners, and other mealy bugs are known to infest fruit trees. Take action against them by applying this oil to the base and branches of your trees. However, since it’s in an almost 100 percent pure form, be sure to mix it with water before spraying it onto your fruit trees.
These insects (and their eggs) will be smothered, thus removing a few of your problems.

Tips to Help Your Fruit Trees
- Prune trees before anything begins to bud. Pruning will remove any dead ends to branches, allowing them to grow more this year. (Prune before coating the tree in Superior Oil.)
- Remove any debris from around the base of the tree. Insects and pests can harbor underneath this debris, potentially causing an infestation around the tree, or worse — eventually heading toward your house!
- Pull and remove any weeds around the tree for the same reasons listed above. Rodents also love tall grass, so be sure to pull the weeds (and mow the lawn when the warm weather arrives).
