Cockroaches, by appearance, are one of the creepiest creatures to walk this green Earth. What makes them even more repulsive are their behaviors and traits. It’s safe to say that everything about the cockroach is horrifying.

  • Anything Goes – Every pest has a specific diet where they consume certain things or other insects. Cockroaches will eat just about anything, including grease, food scraps, wallpaper, glue, paper products, etc. And the worst part about their eating habits — they can go up to six weeks without a meal!
  • Pests as Old as Time – Cockroaches are some of the oldest living things on this planet, with the modern species dating back to over 200 million years ago. What’s even crazier, there are ancestral species of cockroach that date back over 350 million years ago. Do you think dinosaurs hated these pests as much as we do?
  • No Head? No Problem! – The title here says it all, cockroaches can live without their heads! As long as any bleeding stops via a clot, this creepy crawler can keep on wiggling along. However, if it cannot eat anymore, it will end up dying due to starvation, dehydration, or succumb to mold that will begin to grow on it.
  • Fast and Furious – Did you know a cockroach can begin scurrying within 8.2 milliseconds? Once it senses a change in the air current, this pest will almost immediately begin sprinting at 80 centimeters per second. And don’t think you can easily squish this sucker — as cockroaches can cut on a dime like a running back in his prime!
